Cannabis use and road safety study

We are studying how smoked cannabis with or without tobacco may affect driving.

Studies have also shown that driving under the influence of cannabis leads to an increase in collision risk.

Given these important safety concerns, we are using CAMH’s high fidelity driving simulator to assess the impacts of cannabis on driving. 

You may be eligible if you:

• are 19 to 79 years old; 
• have a valid driver’s licence; and
• smoke or vape cannabis

Participants will receive compensation for their time. 

Research Registry Details

This research study is examining driving behaviour under the influence of cannabis alone or combined with tobacco using a driving simulator system. As a participant in the study, you will smoke cannabis cigarettes with cannabis alone, cannabis combined with tobacco, tobacco alone, or a placebo cigarette. You will operate a high-fidelity driving simulator, undergo cognitive testing, complete some questionnaires, and provide saliva, blood and urine samples during the study.
