This is a study by CAMH, the leading mental health research hospital in Canada. Learn more about what's involved in participating in a study at CAMH Research Connect.
We are studying how cannabis and alcohol use may affect driving, and you may be eligible to take part in our study.
Alcohol and cannabis are the two substances most commonly detected in people who become seriously or fatally injured while driving.
In an earlier study, we found that people who reported driving under the influence of both alcohol and cannabis were nearly four times more likely to have been in a collision in the past year, compared with individuals who reported driving after using only one of those substances.
Given these important safety concerns, we are using CAMH’s state-of-the-art driving simulator to assess the impacts of alcohol and cannabis use on driving.
You may be eligible if you:
- are 19 to 25 years old;
- have a valid driver’s license; and
- smoke cannabis and consume alcohol regularly.
Participants will receive compensation for their time.
