Dr. Sara Ling is an associate scientist in the Digital Mental Health Lab within the Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics at CAMH. She is also an assistant professor (status-only) in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and an adjunct lecturer in the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. Dr. Ling is a registered nurse who completed her BScN at McMaster University, and MN and PhD at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ling’s area of clinical expertise is addiction medicine, having worked as an advanced practice clinical leader in the Medical Withdrawal Service at CAMH since 2014. More recently, Sara assumed the role of interim chief clinical informatics officer, for a one-year period beginning in September 2023.
Areas of Research
Dr. Ling’s research interests include digital health, addictions and clinical informatics. Her current CIHR and AMS-funded research explores COVID-19 pandemic impacts on service access and utilization for people who have opioid use disorder, and perceptions of privacy and health information exchange among people who have received treatment for substance use disorders. She also has an interest in women’s health, and women’s experiences using digital health interventions.
