In 2022, the Centre for Additions and Mental Health (CAMH) signed a partnership with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) as a globally recognized Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO).
From bedside, to supporting patients and families through treatments and transitions, to developing innovative solutions to challenging clinical situations, CAMH’s interprofessional teams are at the forefront of excellent care.
Best Practice Spotlight Organizations (BPSOs) are health-care and academic organizations selected by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) through a request for proposals to implement and evaluate the RNAO’s best practice guidelines. It is a dynamic partnership that focuses on making a positive impact on patient care though evidence-based practice.
- CAMH Is proud to be a part of the BPSO, building long term commitment to advance care for our patients and their families, transform their care experiences and improve their health outcomes, which is reflected in the Quality Improvement Plan. CAMH will continue to redefine health and maintain a culture of excellence and evidence-based care by incorporating Best Practice Guidelines’.
CAMH Best Practice Champions
The journey will not be possible without the support of Best Practice Champions, which will consist of a an interdisciplinary team of CAMH staff who are passionate about Best Practices. Their passion for evidence-based practice and improving care and health will support this journey. These champions are dedicated practitioners who will raise awareness of the BPGs, have an understanding of change management processes, motivate their colleagues, and understand the challenges and the gaps and work together to influence the uptake of the BPGs.
Our goal is 40% engagement from the frontline staff across the organization over the course of this journey.
