Denise Lo is Chief Partnerships Officer at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Foundation. She joined the organization in December 2022, bringing with her more than 20 years of fundraising experience.
Denise got her start in the non-profit sector building grassroots partnerships for organizations like Alzheimer Society of Toronto and St. Stephen’s Community House. From there she moved into senior-level roles in health-care philanthropy. At Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, she advanced the national pink ribbon movement into a strategic cause marketing success. At SickKids Foundation, Denise contributed to the record-breaking $1.5-billion SickKids VS Limits Campaign, which rallied more than one million donors worldwide. She was inspired by the opportunity to partner with corporate leaders, campaign cabinet members, board members and employee groups to align their social impact goals with the hospital’s priorities. Denise also served on the Executive Committee of the Garry Hurvitz Centre for Brain & Mental Health at SickKids, working with clinicians, scientists and hospital leadership to establish a vision and develop fundraising strategies to elevate operations and deliver transformational gifts.
At CAMH Foundation, Denise leads the team responsible for corporate partnerships, employee engagement, sponsorship, cause marketing and community third-party events. From community initiatives to national programs, she empowers her team to inspire companies, their employees and stakeholders to help Canada’s leading mental health hospital build a future where no one is left behind.
At her core, Denise believes in helping people and the power of collective action. She is deeply committed to social justice, social equality and the importance of universal healthcare to contribute to a compassionate society where Mental Health is Health.
