CAMH is delighted to welcome patients, families and our community to the new McCain Complex Care & Recovery Building and Crisis & Critical Care Building.
We have been preparing for more than a year to formally open our new spaces that will transform mental health care.
On this page, please find information about programs and services that have moved into the new buildings, information to help you navigate the new spaces, as well as relevant policies and protocols in place to support your safety.
Emergency Department Move: The CAMH Emergency Department and the CAMH Bridging Clinic have moved to the Queen Street site from the College Street site. Adults in need of emergency assessment and treatment with mental health and substance use issues should visit the new Emergency Department location at the Crisis & Critical Care Building at 1051 Queen Street West. Overview
The McCain Complex Care & Recovery Building
This new signature building, made possible by the generosity of Michael H. McCain and his family, houses a number of facilities for both in- and outpatient services, including 110 beds for inpatients with serious and persistent mental illness like schizophrenia and mood disorders.

- Simulation Centre
- Temerty Centre for Therapeutic Brain Intervention
- "Therapeutic Neighbourhood" supporting skills development and other programming to enhance recovery
- Research and Education facilities
- Library and RBC Patient & Family Learning Space (open to the public)
- 300 seat auditorium
CAMH Crisis & Critical Care Building
The new Crisis and Critical Care Building houses a number of programs and relocates all emergency and inpatient services previously located at CAMH’s College Street site to the main site, making integrated care that much easier.
- 24/7 Emergency Department
