Adults age 16 + in need of emergency psychiatric assessment and treatment with mental health and substance abuse issues.
Additional Referral Details
No referral required. Patients may be accompanied by family or significant other and may be referred by various community services, including family doctors, community psychiatrists, and mental health agencies, police, and other social service providers.
If a patient is referred, any information that can be provided by the referring source is appreciated.
The Emergency Department does not provide crisis counseling or general information over the phone. For emergencies, please call TeleHealth at 1 866-797-0000 and TTY at 1 800 387-5559; call 911; or proceed to your nearest emergency room.
Types of Treatment and Services Offered
Extended observation, assessment, and treatment services to adults assessed in the Emergency Service or those who are awaiting an inpatient bed.
Works collaboratively with other hospital emergency and community mental health services to achieve patient-centered care.
