Dr. Avra Selick is a project scientist with the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre and the Provincial System Support Program at CAMH. She obtained her PhD in Health Services Research at the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
Dr. Selick is a health services researcher focused on how to implement, spread and scale evidence-based practices to support equitable access to care for vulnerable populations, including adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities and youth with early psychosis. She uses qualitative and mixed methods approaches to gain a nuanced understanding of patient, family, and provider experiences of care. Areas of interest include transitions in care, virtual healthcare, learning health systems, models of primary care for complex populations, and the impact of climate change on mental health. Dr. Selick is a PI and Co-I on several CIHR funded projects and recently co-led the development of practice guidance to support alternate level of care patients with a dual diagnosis to transition out of hospital.
