Dr. Ahmed Hassan is an associate scientist in the Addictions Division and an addiction psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He completed his psychiatry residency, mood and anxiety fellowship and addiction fellowship at the University of Toronto, and a master of public health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Areas of Research
Dr. Hassan has a particular research interest in the biopsychosocial aspect of addictions, with the goal of improving care for patients with concurrent disorders, and a focus on individuals with both opioid use disorder and mood/anxiety disorders.
