Study Information
If you are between 12 to 21 years old and have been diagnosed with depression by a health professional, you can help us digitally track depression by participating in this research study. This study aims to track relapse of adolescent and youth depression through wearable devices. You will be provided compensation throughout the duration of this study. This study does not offer treatment for depression.
What will happen during this study?
- Complete an initial virtual or in-person 3-hour eligibility assessment which will ask you to complete questionnaires, a video facial recording, and two speech samples
- Complete an electronic mood diary five times daily on your phone for 1 week
- Wear a device on your wrist that automatically records physical activity, sleep, and heart rhythm data (we ask you to wear it for a minimum of 2 weeks and up to 4 weeks)
- Complete 1-hour virtual or in-person follow-up visits that will ask you to complete the tasks above every 3 to 4 months

- The study lasts for 2 years

- Ways to prevent depression/depression relapse in adolescents
Compensation
- Compensation for your time will be provided by gift cards (the Everything Gift Card) or cash
- Compensation will be provided at each visit
