This study aims to better understand brain development and mental health in adolescents by examining how genders and sexualities may shape developmental outcomes.
We're especially interested in:
- How identity relates to brain development
- How brain and hormone differences relate to wellness
- How gender-affirming hormonal treatments relate to brain development (for those receiving them)
Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible if you:
- Age Range: 12-17 years old
- Identify as 2SLGBTQ+
- Can speak and read English
You are not eligible if you:
- Have non-removable braces
- Have had a head injury
- Have previously received hormone therapy
- Have claustrophobia, schizophrenia, or a substance use disorder
What does the study involve?
- Number of contacts: 1-3 sessions
