Program Overview
Spiritual care providers - including registered psychotherapists, trainees, and individuals in the certification process - are essential members of a patient's interdisciplinary care team. Their focus is to help clients access strength, wisdom, guidance, and healing as they navigate the various stages of life. The clinical care team also supports clients in overcoming spiritual, moral, or existential distress arising from challenges, crises, pain, trauma, illness, or grief they may be experiencing.
Spiritual care providers do not represent specific religious traditions. Our services are available to all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, or philosophical beliefs. These services are offered in an environment of respect, dignity, and justice.
CAMH's spiritual care professionals are trained and regulated by the Canadian Association of Spiritual Care and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
