Dionne Sinclair is an internationally recognized Certified Healthcare Executive, currently serving as Vice President, Clinical Operations and Chief Nurse Executive at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. Dionne brings an energizing and compassionate leadership style that empowers team and inspires excellence.
Dionne’s leadership and advocacy have earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing (2024), Distinguished Alumni Award, Health Science Category from Fanshawe College (2022), recognition as one of the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women (2022), and Nursing Alumni Award of Distinction from the University of Western Ontario (2021). Her commitment to advancing equity is evident through her roles on the Board of Trustees at CAMH, the Pan-Canadian Nurses of African Descent, and as Founder of the Canadian Black Nurses Network.
Dionne is also dedicated to academic excellence, holding adjunct and fellow appointments at the University of Toronto, Oxford Brooks University, and Toronto Metropolitan University. Her academic credentials include PhD (c), candidate, Western University, a Master of Science in Nursing from York University, and an Advanced Executive Certificate in Healthcare Management from Sprott School of Business, Carleton University.
Dionne believes that Healthcare Leadership is both a calling and a collective responsibility to uplift others, challenge inequities, and create spaces where compassion meets innovation. Her philosophy centers on the conviction that transformative change begins with authentic connection, courage in advocacy, and an unwavering belief in the power of caring individuals to heal, educate, and lead global systems toward equitable, person-centered care.
