Our starting point for this co-created artwork was the idea of bringing the garden inside the building; emphasizing the calming and grounding effect that nature has on us. This interior garden is also a metaphor for our inner psychological and spiritual selves providing a setting to tell our stories of what we hold sacred. A series of floral still life drawing workshops/classes were held on site at CAMH. Participants from the centre were encouraged to explore the symbolic possibilities of what flowers might represent to them personally. It is these individual contributions that make up “The Garden Within”.
