We’re now in the fourth and final phase of our historic redevelopment. This phase, also known as 1D, will include two new CAMH buildings on our Queen Street site (Secure Care and Recovery building and the Research & Discovery Centre). We currently are in the Early Works stage which includes design work, planning, municipal approvals, and renovating spaces for displaced teams and services to move to. This phase is planned to be complete by the end of summer 2023.
As part of this work, we are anticipating a temporary, complete closure of the shared bike lane and pedestrian walkway connecting Sudbury Street to the CAMH campus. This walkway is located in the southwest corner of the campus, behind the West Wing at 10 White Squirrel Way.
This will begin May 1 and will last until July 24, 2023 (subject to change). The delay in the project timeline is due to the weather. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. This work is essential to replace the asphalt and perform landscaping. We’re also excited as this work will take us one step closer to moving the Daycare to its new home. During this period, the area will be blocked off on both sides and there will be signage posted to redirect people.
We worked hard with the City to create this bicycle and pedestrian pathway and are committed to re-opening the pathway as soon as possible. In the meantime, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we continue into the next phase of our exciting redevelopment.
