Nuit Blanche at CAMH

Queen West’s sidewalks were packed with art lovers last Saturday for Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, an annual event running from sundown on Saturday to sun up on Sunday, where the downtown core is taken over by artists of all disciplines.

CAMH was one of the many sites that were part of the event. A portion of our campus was transformed into a living room with “Bring To The Table”, an installation created by The STEPS Initiative, The Toronto Emerging ARTivists, Rodrigo Marti and Mahmood Popal. They created a “home” using upcycled materials from local businesses and residents, creating an atmosphere for people to play guitar, board games and relax.

Several visual artists also collaborated on a large-scale painting created on site during the event. Take a look at the before and after photos below. Painting by Shalak Attack, Bruno Smoky and Fiya Bruxa.

Participation in Nuit Blanche is a wonderful example of how CAMH has become part of the dynamic and artistic West Queen West community. Quite a special night!!
