About the Sale of 175 Brentcliffe Road

CAMH is selling the 175 Brentcliffe Road property to support the construction of the Temerty Discovery Centre, a critical investment in our historic Queen Street redevelopment. The Temerty Discovery Centre will accelerate groundbreaking research to better understand the brain and mental illness and improve mental health care for all.  

The sale supports the long-term goal of consolidating CAMH research at the Queen Street site as part of the fourth and final phase of the 25-year Queen Street Redevelopment Plan. 

The proceeds from the sale will fund the fourth and final phase of CAMH’s redevelopment, which includes the Temerty Discovery Centre, a state-of-the-art research and training facility uniting CAMH's research programs under one roof, spurring and accelerating new breakthroughs to advance care. Proceeds will be reinvested in the mental health system. The Temerty Discovery Centre is currently under construction and due to open in late 2027. 

The property at 175 Brentcliffe is composed of two sections: acreage (open land) on the west side and the east side includes a building that is currently leased to Edgewood Health Network (EHN) Bellwoods, a private mental health and addictions treatment centre. EHN currently has an option to extend its lease until 2036. 

The property will be listed for sale in April 2025 and completion of sale is expected in December 2025.
