CAMH is committed to keeping our communities, neighbours and staff informed about the progress of the Queen Street Redevelopment Project.
Our two new hospital buildings continue to grow taller and taller each month. Work on both buildings remains on schedule and this month we expect to complete the Level 4 and 5 concrete slab pours and begin the formwork for Level 6. Mechanical and electrical piping work in the underground tunnels that connect CAMH buildings will also continue.
We do expect temporary closures of Gordon Bell Road and the parking garage at the Doctor’s Association Building (101 Stokes Street) on September 8, 15 and 22 for ongoing mechanical equipment hoisting.
Finally, a reminder that there is a noise bylaw exemption in place for the hour between 6 and 7 a.m. from Monday to Friday that allows the use of the tower cranes to unload materials from trucks to prepare for the day’s activities. This permit is currently in place until September 26.
Retail Strategy Community Meeting
Over 1,300 people — including neighbours, staff, patients and families — provided input about the kinds of services and shops they would like to see in the 9,000 square-foot retail space that will be available in the two new hospital buildings.
Join us September 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Queen Street Community Centre, in Meeting Room A for a community meeting where the market analysis will be shared and next steps discussed.
