Mike Lamore-Robins knows that a small act—like offering a snack—can open the door to something much bigger. As a counsellor in CAMH’s Youth Addiction and Concurrent Disorder Services, he sees how hard it is to focus on recovery when you’re hungry.
That’s why Mike has become a passionate advocate for CAMH’s Gifts of Light-funded food pantry program. What began with one gift card and a few shelves of snacks has grown into 19 pantries across outpatient units at the hospital, including several youth programs. Stocked with quick, nourishing options and the occasional treat, they’re open to anyone who needs them.
