Media Guidelines
Respecting Patient Confidentiality
As a publicly funded psychiatric hospital, it is crucial that CAMH works with the media to ensure that the privacy rights of our patients are protected.
For this reason we have strict protocols for all news gathering while on CAMH property, including guidelines for interviewing patients and employees and taking photographs.
No media cameras are allowed on site without prior approval from CAMH Media Relations.
No patients can be photographed or filmed without written consent from the patient facilitated by CAMH.
While on CAMH property, a staff person or designate must escort members of the media at all times.
Before interviewing any CAMH experts or visiting the site, it is important that media contact CAMH Media Relations at 416 595-6015 or e-mail media@camh.ca.
