Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Phallometric Lab that operates as part of the Sexual Behaviours Clinic (SBC) is temporarily closed. Efforts are underway to re-open operations as quickly as possible and we expect some Lab services to resume in early Fall 2024. Please note that other services and treatments offered by the SBC are not impacted by the temporary closure of the Phallometric Lab.
Intended For
People seeking outpatient assessment and treatment who are currently supervised by probation or parole for a sexual offence and for people concerned about a sexual interest or behaviour that could result in legal difficulties. Services are offered both in-person and virtually for individuals 18+ years old in Ontario.

We serve patients who:
Are over the age of 18
Are concerned about one or more of the following sexual interests:
- Pedophilia - Bestiality - Exhibitionism - Voyeurism - Frotteurism - Coercive /violence
Are family members seeking support for themselves around someone in their life who is struggling with the above interests or behaviours.
Patients on probation or parole must score 1 or above on the STATIC-99R.
We accept referrals from:
Probation officers
Parole officers
Mental health diversion workers
Physicians and nurse practitioners for non-legally involved patients and family
Self-referral for family members

Referrals are NOT accepted from or on behalf of lawyers, The Children’s Aid Society or from Family and Child Services.
We DO NOT serve patients who:
Are experiencing hypersexuality or “sex addiction”. Resource List
Have pending charges or are awaiting sentencing for a sexual /sexually motivated offence*
Are appealing a sexual /sexually motivated offence*
Are seeking a risk assessment or a parenting capacity assessment*
Physicians and nurse practitioners can make a referral for individuals with no legal involvement, who are concerned about a sexual interest or behaviour. Please note, individuals currently on probation, parole or mental health diversion for a sexual /sexually related offence need to be referred by their PO or diversion worker.
Is a multi-disciplinary team, including social work, psychology, psychiatry, and sexology.
Our treatment approach follows a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model, and may include aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the Good Lives Model, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and relapse prevention. We work with our patients to develop treatment goals, with a focus on living a healthy, balanced, and safe lifestyle.
We work from a non-judgmental and inclusive framework. We also work with diverse cultural and linguistic communities. CAMH interpretation services are provided for patients as needed for assessment and treatment.
Talking for Change
Are you concerned about your sexual interest in children? Are you worried about your use of child sexual exploitation material (often called child pornography)? Do you have concerns about crossing boundaries with children?
Talking for Change offers free and anonymous help for people concerned about their interests or their behaviour involving children. This is available across Canada and for people of all ages. This service is available via a phone helpline or chat on our website. Chat is available in over 25+ languages.
Talking for Change also offers free assessment and therapy to individuals 18+ in Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, Yukon and Atlantic Canada for the same concerns for people who do not have current legal involvement. This part of the program is not anonymous. A self-referral form is available on the Talking for Change website.
